At Nofia Solutions, we drive sustainability through green chemistry manufacturing, using a solvent-free process with nearly 100% atom efficiency to generate zero waste. Our Antwerp facility targets electricity self-sufficiency by 2030, cutting carbon emissions. We produce non-toxic, halogen-free, PFAS-free, SVHC-free polymeric flame retardants compatible with p.e. recycled PET and BOPET, supporting the circular economy. Guided by a strong ESG commitment, we advance both environmental and social sustainability.

Homopolymers

Our Nofia® homopolymers have an exceptionally high limiting oxygen index of 65%, which makes it particularly well suited to be used as FR additives. Nofia homopolymers are transparent, high flowing polymers with a glass transition temperature of about 90-105°C. The different grades have different molecular weights making them suitable for a wide array of applications. From textile fibers to electrical cables to BOPET and rPET.

Copolymers

Nofia® copolymers are polyphosphonate-co-carbonates. A range of compositions which can be produced from high to low phosphonate content. The copolymers have good impact resistance and glass transition temperatures while maintaining high melt flow and a high limiting oxygen index. They are typically used in, however not limited to, polycarbonate or PC blends based materials

Oligomers

Our oligomers are low molecular weight, reactive flame retardant additives. They’re phosphorus based additives with phenolic end groups suitable for flame retarding thermoset resins, such as unsaturated polyesters, epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea. They are transparent and highly soluble in the typical solvents used in thermoset resin processing. Additionally our oligomers are dispersed prior for us in textile or protective coatings.
