From the beginnings to an industry leader

The inventor of Nofia® flame retardants was Dr. Dieter Freitag, the Chief Technology Officer for FRX Polymers. As a 33-year veteran of Bayer AG, Dr. Freitag invented and brought to the market the polycarbonate compact disc grade, as well as the high heat PC (APEC HT®). At Bayer, he held the positions of Sr. VP, Materials Research and Global Director, and Plastics Research and Development.

With over 70 granted patents, recognition as a fast-growing multinational, and being named three times in the Global Cleantech Top 100, Nofia Solutions is committed to leading the industry in safe and sustainable flame retardant solutions. We are ISO certified and our products are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 approved, underscoring our dedication to quality and environmental responsibility.

Our journey is marked by significant milestones, including the registration of our trademark, Nofia®, from the U.S. Trademark Office in 2013, and the expansion of our agents and distributors into key European and Asian territories in 2014. In 2022, Nofia® Homopolymers and Copolymers were added to the TCO Certified Accepted Substance List, the most recognized and world-leading sustainability certification for additives in the electronics and information technology industries.
